Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Asansol is a branch centre of Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, Howrah. It is working in this coal-field area for more than 75 yrs. Since 2003 A Vocational Training Centre had come into light. It is imparting technical skill to the young boys & girls. This technical Institute is accredited to National Institute of open school (NIOS) under M.H.R.D. New Delhi.

: OBJECT OF VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE :

The concept of developed civilization is changing rapidly due to the invention of new horizon of Science & Technology. Modern Agriculture system, transport system, IT, Aviation, Cooking appliances, Factories & workshops etc. in every walk of life, we find, there is a touch of science & technology.

So, to maintain and operate those technical gadgets, appliances, there is a need of many technicians and skilled workers. VTC with its limited resources has introduced trades to promote the basic concept of technical skills for this locality Since 2007 another wing of VTC has been introduced. It has been declared by The West Bengal Council of Rabindra Open Schooling. Accredited study centre for secondary as well as senior secondary level, i.e. up to class X & XII, where the boys & girls who have dropped out or could not pass X or XII standard from regular school education, can register themselves to complete their school level education.

Peerless Skill Academy has been promoted as an Institution in collaboration with Ramakrishna Mission and Ramakrishna Math to carry out skill development activities through training and empowerment thereby enhancing community livelihood.

In the VTC, we teach different trade courses viz.
1) Electrical 5) Computer Software
2) Welding Technology 6) Two Wheeler Repair
3) Tig & Mig Welding 7) Mobile Phone Repair
4) A.C. Fridge Repair

As we know all the above mentioned courses are widely associated with some means or other with our day to day life, the plenty of technicians are needed. Those technicians would get the opportunity to work in those fields. By virtue of their technical skills they would be able to stand on their own feet. Scope of employment in the different factories, workshops would be open to them, and scope of self-employment would be in their own hand which, now a days, is a great concern of the Govt.
